Porcine elastin peptide – Peptidized form of elastin of animal origin, obtained by enzymatic cleavage from porcine tissues. It is an ingredient approved in the EU for use in food supplements. Thanks to its lower molecular weight, it is absorbed in the digestive tract significantly better than unhydrolyzed elastin. Research suggests a positive effect on the density and arrangement of elastic fibers in the skin.
Fish elastin peptide – A second source of elastin peptides, this time from fish tissues. The combination of two sources ensures a broader spectrum of amino acids specific to elastic fibers (desmosine, isodesmosine).
